We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our growing company! This position supports Department 40 and Command Front Office at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia, PA. This position is a leading member of the organization and supports the program and leadership. Duties:
Maintain and update records of employee training requests and completed training for the department. The training will be tracked in a database and summarized in weekly reports to the respective supervisor.
Communicate monthly due dates for training requirements to department employees for planning purposes.
Maintain work center metrics and reports on employee technical competency goals and metrics. These reports will provide gap analysis of required training or experience in line with the NSWCPD Technical Competency program.
Update and maintain workforce competency programs (CQS CQR and KSA) utilizing Workforce Development Tool.
Provide programmatic support in the form of tracking milestones, metrics and key priorities.
Support to include, but not limited to, program review session scheduling and managing status submittals.
Provide meeting, conference, and training support.
Includes organizing meetings; developing materials; participating on sub teams; training, and completing action items.
Generate, and distribute meeting agendas; publish minutes; produce presentation materials, and follow up on action items.
Develop, implement, and support management of team integration and document management.
Participate in the NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP).
Tasking shall include but not limited to attending meetings; tracking action items to completion; participating on sub teams, and participating in training, and assessments.
Develop and maintain tools designed to support branch specific mobile work space seating assignments; allowing for seating assignments to comply with building capacity requirements and restrictions.
Requirements:
Associate's level degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of experience in writing/editing and utilizing advanced Microsoft Office skills for Project, and Visio as well as high level graphics COTS tools such as Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Experience should include: providing high level graphics support, production of technical manuals, and production of books.
Working knowledge of the Naval Sea System Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, and Fleet organizations is desired.
