Telecommunications Engineer

We are looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to join our growing company! This role is located in Sterling, VA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the telecom function, to include network design, engineering, implementation, or operations/user support
  • Managing projects and assigning tasks as required for new technologies and features
  • Collaborating with Team members to ensure smooth and reliable fulfillment of business objectives and processes
  • Working with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
  • Designing and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems associated with telecommunication
  • Performing cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Conducting research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
  • Gauging the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and developing and implementing strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Coordinating and performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
  • Monitoring and testing system performance; preparing and delivering system performance statistics and reports
  • Other duties and projects as may be periodically requested by senior management
 Requirements:
  • Have a solid background with Telecommunications
  • The ability to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network systems that support core organizational functions
  • The ability to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
  • The ability to support large Unified Communication cluster with over 100+ end devices and users
  • Demonstrate concern and respect for others in all interactions, and inspire confidence and trust
  • Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrate proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure 
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related discipline is required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the field
  • Certification and/or equivalent experience with:
  • Certified CCNA/CCNP: Cisco-Enterprise 11.5 UCM, 12.5 UCCX, FINESSE, UCCX Editor Cisco CIMC Version: 4.1(1g) and 11.5 UNITY Voice Mail service, and 8861 Cisco Phones.
  • Required Plus: VM Ware ESXi 33.4, Guest OS: RED HAT Enterprise, Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, and CentOS 7,
  • Bonus Plus: Presidio- NUANCE Voice recognition & Calabrio-Work Force Optimization-Voice Recording & Cohesity Admin call recording backup.
